Stabbing in Seaside Friday night, police arrest suspect

Seaside Police arrested Steven Boyd Friday night for allegedly stabbing someone.

Police responded to reports of a stabbing on the 1100 block of Sonoma Avenue shortly after 9 p.m.

Upon arrival witnesses directed officers to the house where the suspect had fled. Boyd was located and arrested, police said.

Preliminary investigation indicates a brief altercation escalated into a stabbing, police said.

The victim was taken to a local trauma center and is expected to recover.

Police said the stabbing does not appear to be gang-related.
