Man arrested for attempted homicide in Carmel
A man was arrested Saturday after he beat a woman in Carmel, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s office.
Deputies responded to a report of an assault at a residence on Camino Real. The sheriff’s office said when deputies arrived they found Karen Jones laying in her front yard with blunt force injuries. She was taken to a nearby hospital and is in critical condition.
The sheriff’s office said Marc Cross was found in one of the bedrooms of the house he rented from Jones. Deputies said after further investigation he was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail.
