Recycle your Christmas tree for free

If you still have your Christmas tree, it may be time to ditch it, and the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority is a good place to start.

Through January 31st you can recycle your old tree for free at transfer stations in King City, Gonzalez and Salinas.

The Monterey Regional Waste Management District is also providing free Christmas tree recycling in Marina.

All decorations, lights and stands must be removed.
