Mudslide closes Hwy 68 exit at Highway 1 in Monterey

Southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Monterey are still open but the off-ramp to Highway 68, the Holman Highway, is closed due to a mudslide.

The slide also brought down a tree that is blocking lanes.

Trees have now been cleared from the roadway on 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach near the CAL FIRE station, those trees were blocking the whole roadway at one point.

Hwy 68 eastbound near the Monterey Airport was also partially blocked late Monday afternoon as crews worked to unclog a drainage ditch that was close to overflowing onto the highway.
