The News Department at KION TV, KMUV TV Monterey-Salinas, CA, has an immediate opening for a Digital Content Director.
Job Description: The Digital Content Director is responsible for the overall supervision and development of www.kionrightnow.com. The position requires working knowledge of website design and development as well as the ability to edit video and work closely with our News, Sales and Promotions departments. The candidate will be responsible for keeping our websites up-to-date with the latest news and weather, also updating our social media platforms. Candidate must understand all aspects of social media, to help position us for the mobile future. Qualified candidates should also possess sound news judgment, strong newswriting and HTML skills, mastery of Adobe Photoshop and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. This position must be able to multi task by working directly with the news staff including reporters who post news stories to the web, the assignment desk, and newscast producers. The DCD will also assist with assignment desk duties as needed. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
Qualifications include: A Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field. Prior web producing or newscast producing at a commercial television station required. . We’re looking for an organized, self–starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to train others. No beginners, please.
Candidate must pass a drug test and background check and a valid driver’s license is required.
