Artists working to beautify utility boxes in Salinas
Artists on Monday were continuing to work on a mural featuring writer John Steinbeck on a utility box at the corner of North Main Street and Harden Parkway.
It’s part of the Salinas Urban Art Project, the brainchild of Jacky Luna. A total of 30 utility boxes in the city’s Oldtown area are being painted.
Similar projects have been done previously in Santa Cruz County.
