Massive gun seizure in Santa Cruz

A search warrant executed Friday in the 1300 block of La Madrona Drive in Santa Cruz ends with five people arrested and 20 firearms seized, according to the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team.

Deputies say heroin, methamphetamine and 17 growing marijuana plants were also seized from the home along with a stolen vehicle and a stolen off-road motorcycle.

Here’s a list of the following arrested individuals with their accused crimes:
Carlos Martinez: possession of heroin For sales, unlawful possession of firearms, possession of stolen property, under the influence of a controlled substance.
Leif Kubina: under the influence of a controlled substance.
Christopher Pijas: possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia.
Samantha Curtis: possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, probation violation.
Amber Fancher: under the influence of a controlled substance.

According to deputies, the SCCACT has already seized six shotguns, 19 rifles and 17 handguns in 2014.
