Protesters pack Salinas city council meeting

Central Coast News reporter Marissa Schwartz is at the Salinas City Council meeting this evening, where crowds have packed the house.

A large group of protesters has gathered in the wake of two recent fatal officer-involved shootings, one of which occurred this afternoon.

The protesters are demanding the following from city officials:

*An investigation into all officer involved shootings in the last 10 years

*All officers involved in any shootings should be kept out of work until the investigations are complete, and they want better training for officers.

Salinas city leaders at the meeting said they will not address any comments made because of the two ongoing officer-involved shooting investigations.
