20-year-old woman shot in Santa Cruz
Police are still looking for the suspects in a shooting in Santa Cruz. They say at about 7:30 Monday night a group was walking on Third St. near Raymond St. when they heard someone whistle to attract their attention.
Two Hispanic male adults on the San Lorenzo River Levee above them started making hand gestures at the group and then started shooting. The group started running towards Riverside Ave. but a 20-year-old woman was struck in the upper arm. Her injuries are not life-threatening. She was taken by ambulance to a Santa Clara County hospital. No one else was injured during the attack.
Officers and Investigators closed most of the area for an in-depth search for evidence. Officers also canvassed the neighborhood for witnesses. The investigation is on-going.
