Gilroy police: 74-year-old woman was slain
Gilroy police say a 74-year-old woman found dead this week inside a Bristlecone Court home was the victim of a homicide.
Officers responded Tuesday evening to reports of an unconscious female. Officers arrived to find Doris Mae Knapp suffering trauma to her upper body. A family member was on scene when they arrived. Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful and Knapp was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gilroy police have not said how the woman died. Detectives are investigating around the clock. No further details are being released at this time.
