Crews Responded to Small Vegetation Fire in Big Sur

U.S. Forest Service fire crews responded to a small vegetation fire in Big Sur Monday afternoon.

The fire burned less than an acre, but several structures were threatened. However, fire crews were able to quickly contain this fire without losing any homes.

Fears are high after the destructive fire in Big Sur two weeks ago on Pfeiffer Ridge, which burned 34 homes and some outbuildings.

Crews on scene said the fire was burning 1 mile south of the Esalen Institute.
