Arson Suspected as Cause of Soledad House Fire
Around 2:00 a.m. Saturday, Soledad Fire and CAL FIRE responded to a structure fire on the 600 block of North Street.
Several other agencies joined in, bringing the total number of firefighters to 12.
Fire crews discovered a well involved single family home. The home was empty. Firefighters were able to protect nearby homes and knocked out the fire in about 30 minutes.
There were no injuries. The damage was estimated around $80,000.
The cause of the fire is believed to be arson to cover up a burglary. It remains under investigation by CAL FIRE and the Soledad Police Department.
