Health Advisory Remains in Effect Despite Improvments in Air Quality

Smoke from the Pfieffer fire has covered the Monterey Peninsula and the county health department still has a health advisory in effect for the area.

As of Thursday morning the fire was 79 percent contained and the air quality has been improving, health officials have said.

According to the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District, Thursday’s air quality is good and is predicting it should stay that way until Christmas. Although air quality is expected to improve, smoke conditions may vary depending on the wind direction and the weather.

Despite improvements in the air quality, the Monterey County Health Department wants to remind people that their is still a health advisory in effect for people living in areas affected by smoke from the Pfeiffer Fire.
