Pet of the Week: Meet Big Moon!
Our Halloween Pet of the Week kitten is Big Moon, part of a litter of four rescued when their mom was
trapped in Greenfield for our Trap-Neuter-Replace program that spays and neuters feral cats to help
reduce the feline overpopulation problem in south Monterey County. This 10-week-old boy is the last of
his litter of four in foster care in Marina while awaiting his furrever home.
Big Moon is a cute orange tabby boy who is very comfortable with other cats and kittens of all ages. He
loves to wrestle and play chase. Big Moon also enjoys hanging with an 8-month-old foster kitten, Uncle Zeus, and they frequently play together, and usually nap together as well. Right now, Big Moon’s favorite
activity is chasing his own tail, on the ground or on his cat tower, he’ll spin and spin in circles.
While Big Moon is an active and curious boy, he does need a moment to warm up to new people, after which he happily hangs around for a little love and attention. Fortunately, once he works off some kitten energy, Big Moon will search for a lap to get in a little kitten nap. Big Moon is still growing and developing his personality, but he is likely to thrive in a low to medium energy home where he can have other four-legged companions and lots of attention.
If you are interested in adopting Big Moon, you can submit an adoption application at www.ourneighborhoodpetproject.org.
Our Neighborhood Pet Project's next adoption event will be Saturday, November 9th, and the Salinas Farmers Market. We’ll be there from 9 am until the market ends at 2 pm with both cats and dogs of all ages eager to meet their furrever families!
