Pet of the Week: Meet Drake!
Meet Drake! He came to Animal Friends Rescue Project from Hitchcock Road Animals Services after testing positive for Parvo. He is a resilient pup that battled this nasty virus, and won. He's now ready to find his family! And we must say that whoever adopts Drake is in for life-long cuddles, and silliness! He's truly a lover!
A happy and playful one-year old pup, his foster says Drake is the ultimate cuddle bug and loves playing with squeaky toys but his true love is his Kong! She let us know that he can be quite the goofball, and he's looking to share his goofy energy with a loving home. Drake would love to have another playful pup in the home, someone similar in energy and/or size to help him get his zoomies out! He is currently in a foster home with two kitties and does great with them, but with any animal in his forever home (dog or cat), Drake will need to be properly introduced slowly, over time.
He's made bounds of progress while in a foster home and will only continue to thrive in his new future home! He has worked one-on-one with two different trainers, and is a fast-learner, and becoming more comfortable with his surroundings on a daily basis. He can still be a little nervous around men, but overall is your typical, lovable puppy! He would do best in a home with experienced adult adopters, or families with older children that are able to continue his positive socialization.
Pre-registration for general obedience classes or puppy classes is a requirement for adoption. He already has a jump start on puppy classes, attending a handful, and his trainers say he's a star pupil, eager to learn!
Drake is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org for our online dog application.
Animal Friends Rescue Project will be at the Monterey Bay F.C. game this Saturday, September 21st at Cardinale Stadium in Seaside from 5pm-7pm, so come on out and meet some adoptable animals!
