Pet of the Week: Meet Juno!
Juno is one of Our Neighborhood Pet Project’s newest rescue kittens, after she was initially
found in Salinas by a good Samaritan who temporarily took care of her until realizing it was more than she could handle. Juno is currently in excellent hands and being cared for in a Salinas home with other foster kittens awaiting her spay surgery and her furrever home.
Juno is about 8 weeks old and an adorable brown tabby girl, with a unique characteristic and a tail bent at
90 degrees. At some point early in life, the tail was broken, and although we’re not sure how it happened, it has fully healed in that position. It doesn’t affect her balance and leaves her easily identifiable amongst a group of kittens. Juno is very high energy and loves to zoom around, chasing toys and other foster kittens.
She’s very curious and intelligent and will entertain herself with whatever “toys” she finds, including shoelaces and upside-down cat beds, which are perfect for hide-and-seek with other kittens. Juno is a bold girl and after some initial shyness, quickly becomes friends with the humans in her life. She really enjoys attention and cuddles, and we expect she will be even more friendly as she grows older. Juno will be happy in a home with high activity levels and other companions, two- or four-legged! She will adjust well to children mature enough to safely handle a younger kitten, or adopting her littermate, Janie, would allow them to keep each other company.
You can submit an adoption application at www.ourneighborhoodpetproject.org.
Our Neighborhood Pet Project's next adoption event is this Saturday, July 6th, at the PetSmart in Salinas, from 10 am until 2 pm. Like last weekend, they’ll have cats and dogs of all ages ready to meet their potential furrever family at event!
