SPCA Monterey County under evacuation warning, moving animals elsewhere

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION)

SPCA Monterey County, which is currently under an evacuation warning, is proactively moving animals and supplies from their location.

The organization is moving animals and supplies to the Monterey County Fairground and Hitchcock Road Animal Services out of an abundance of caution.

The animal shelter provided updates on Facebook.

SPCA Monterey County is currently asking for donations to make sure local animals are taken care of during this time. The organization also provided a list of the most urgently needed supplies.

The animal shelter is urging all residents who are forced to evacuate to remember to take pets and animals with you.

If you need help evacuating, call the SPCA Monterey County at 831-373-2631 during the day or 831-264-5455 at night.

SPCA Monterey County also encourages evacuees to secure housing as soon as possible. A list of pet-friendly hotels can be found here.
