Hop-on flights from Monterey to Burbank, Orange County set to start in July

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION) The Monterey Regional Airport announced that seasonal hop-on flights between to Monterey from Burbank and Orange County are set to start July 2.

The flights offered by JSX were originally scheduled to start in April.

Tickets are available for booking Thursday, and they start at $99 each way.

The four round-trip flights per week will fly between the Monterey Jet Center, the John Wayne Airport in Orange County and the Hollywood Burbank Airport.

According to the Monterey Regional Airport, JSX has provided crowd-free service since it started. It was also the first public air carrier in the U.S. to implement a temperature screening system and it has increased sterilization, installed new HEPA filters to help with air circulation, reduced check in and boarding to no more than 20 minutes and offers amenities without credit card exchanges, according to the airport.

This is the fourth year of operation for JSX, and it flies between private terminals on 30-seat jets. According to the airport, travelers will only need to arrive 20 minutes before departure and can check in up to three complimentary bags.
