California State Parks teaching students virtually

History Written in the Trees.mp4.00_01_31_09.Still001

(KION) If you want to explore California without leaving your living room, California State Parks has you covered.

California State Parks has put together online resources and programs for teachers and students. The organization has provided distance learning  programs for students for over 15 years. Instead streaming to classrooms, for now, they are now live streaming classes to your home.

Program manager Brad Key says, “We want them to know that California State Parks are a place for them to learn and to explore, once things go back to normal… We also want them to know about the learning opportunities in those parks.”

These classes fit the bill for science, history and reading. While the classes are free, classes only hold 500 slots. So you’ll want to make sure to register for your class ahead of time.
