San Benito County health officer allowing Shelter in Place to expire, but following state guidance
SAN BENITO COUNTY, Calif. (KION) The Interim San Benito County Public Health Officer, Dr. David Ghilarducci, said he will allow the county's current Shelter in Place order to expire on Sunday at 11:59 p.m.
The county, however, will still be subject to Gov. Newsom's Stay at Home order. The county said allowing its order to expire to remove confusion about the differences between the orders.
County officials said the transition will allow them to focus on a phased reopening.
Businesses that are allowed to be open and activities allowed under the Governor's order must still comply with social distancing protocols.
The Department of Public Health reminds residents that a face covering order is still in effect. Face coverings should be worn in businesses, government buildings and other places where you will be around other people.
