Capitola community’s beloved Surfin’ Santa visits Saturday

CAPITOLA, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce is once again encouraging families to come out and welcome Surfin' Santa to the area.

They announced that the wave-riding Jolly Old St. Nicolas will beach his kayak at noon Saturday before visiting with families and participating in photo ops until departing again at 3 p.m.

"Once Santa lands on shore, he'll greet the crowd and head to his beach chair on the Esplanade Stage, where he'll settle in for a nice visit with the kids," they wrote in the announcement.

Photos are highly encouraged.

In addition to Santa's annual visit, Capitola will be celebrating Small Business Saturday, and invite shoppers to support local small businesses throughout Capitola Village.
