ZACH WEATHER

The weather pattern will be somewhat complex this week as another area of low pressure gets cut off to our southwest. At first, we'll experience seasonably cool weather on Monday, but then easterly flow around the low will draw in a warmer air mass from the east through mid-week. Coastal areas will warm into the 70s with 80s-90s inland. A new trough digging out of the Gulf of Alaska will then kick out the low and cool us back down into the weekend.

Monday: Patchy low clouds on the coast, especially on the south side of the bay, along with passing high clouds. Expect coastal highs in the low 60s to low 70s--coolest on the south side of the bay--and 70s to low 80s inland. Breezy for inland valleys in the afternoon.

Overnight: Mostly cloudy with low clouds near the coast and the inland valleys. Lows mainly in the upper 40s to 50s.

Tuesday: A few low clouds on the coast and some thin high clouds moving through. Otherwise, sunny and warmer with coastal highs in the upper 60s to around 80ºF and 80s to low 90s inland. Breezy for inland valleys in the afternoon.

Extended: We will experience another warm day under mostly sunny skies on Wednesday, then cooler weather will return to coastal cities on Thursday as onshore flow returns and strengthens. Winds may be gusty at times on Friday as the onshore winds push all the way inland, cooling that region as well. Cooler temperatures overall can be expected this coming weekend, though they should be fairly close to normal for this time of year.
