Monterey woman killed in crash near Madison and Pacific Streets in Monterey
UPDATE 8/16/2019 11:00 a.m. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of a pedestrian who died after being hit by a truck near Madison and Pacific Streets on Wednesday.
The Sheriff’s Office said the pedestrian was 67-year-old Joy Judd from Monterey.
At around 9 a.m., Judd was crossing Pacific Street when a truck turned right from Madison onto Pacific. Monterey police and the fire department were at the scene immediately, but she died at the scene. Officers said the driver stopped and cooperated.
UPDATE 1:45 p.m. Monterey police said a pedestrian died after a crash Wednesday near Madison Street and Pacific Street.
It happened just before 9 a.m. Police believe the pedestrian was crossing Pacific Street when a truck turned right from Madison onto Pacific. Police said the driver stopped and cooperated. Police and Monterey fire were on the scene immediately, but the pedestrian died at the scene.
Police are still investigating the crash, and the identity of the victim will not be released until family is notified.
