Hundreds walk to cure diabetes in Pacific Grove
Hundreds of people turned out for the JDRF’s One Walk to Cure Diabetes event in Pacific Grove Sunday.
KION’s very own Aaron Groff was the master of ceremonies for the walk. Groff has a personal connection to the event as he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in January.
700 people participated and the event raised $265,000 for the cause.
The walk was held at Lover’s Point and included entertainment, food and kid’s activities.
According to JDRF, JDRF funding and leadership is associated with the most major scientific breakthroughs in type 1 diabetes research to date. It has raised more than 1 billion dollars in direct funding.
