Body found in Aptos Creek near Highway 1 identified

UPDATE 5/24/2017 5:10 p.m. The Santa Cruz County Sheriffs Office has identified the body found in Aptos creek as 46-year-old Steven Ralls. Ralls from Aptos, was reported missing by a friend on May 8. He was last heard from on May 2. An autopsy was conducted earlier this week. The cause of death is still under investigation however the Sheriffs Office does not suspect foul play.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriffs Office, a body was found by a hiker Monday around 3 p.m. in Aptos creek near Highway 1.

The identification and cause of death are pending an autopsy and further investigation.
