Salinas police investigating homicide in Chinatown

Salinas Police are investigating a homicide in Chinatown.

According to police, it happened Thursday afternoon on Soledad Street.

Police said ShotSpotter detected two gunshots in the area of Soledad Street and Lake Street.

Officers then found 52-year-old Robert Sanchez in a tent suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Sanchez died at the scene.

This is the ninth homicide in the city this year.
