Pipeline project will continue throughout the week in Monterey

California American Water officials said a pipeline project will continue throughout the week in Monterey.

According to officials, service line relocations will continue on Webster Street, causing street closures to traffic between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. starting Wednesday through Friday.

Detours onto Polk Street will be posted, according to officials. Potholing work will also continue on Munras Avenue, limiting traffic to one lane.

Installation of a 36-inch pipe will begin on the eastbound side of North Fremont Street between Airport Road and Ramona Avenue, officials said.

Officials said these roads will go down to single lanes but drivers are encouraged to use other routes.

CalAm is asking drivers to avoid using residential streets as a means of bypassing the construction area.

Service line relocation will continue on Webster Steer and begin on Hartnell Street and Munras Avenue next week between Monday through Friday.

Installation of the 36-inch pipe will continue on North Fremont Street and run throughout the week. Roads there will go down to a single-lane configuration.

For more information on the pipeline routes and construction schedule, drivers are asked to visit the project’s website at www.watersupplyproject.org.
