Drivers are being encouraged to use alternate routes.
According to the CHP’s website, there is also a closure at Bear Creek Road and Kelly Hill Road in Santa Cruz.
PREVIOUS CLOSURES:
A northbound lane at Bay Avenue and Escalona Drive in Santa Cruz is closed because of the potential danger of a falling tree in the area.
According to the Santa Cruz Police Department, the tree is hanging over the lane and could fall into the road tonight.
A tree company has decided it is too dark and not safe to attempt to deal with the issue at this time.
Drivers are being urged to use other routes for now.
The southbound lane of Bay Avenue is open.
