CORRECTION: Highway 101 open in Gilroy

CORRECTION: 6:48 P.M. 1/10/17 Crews are responding to an incident of wires down on Monterey Road near Highway 101. As of now it is open and it is unclear if the highway will be closed. Earlier Gilroy Police sent out an alert with incorrect information.

The CHP is shutting down Highway 101 in both directions in Gilroy for weather related conditions. The highway will be closed between Tenth Street (southbound) and Highway 25 (northbound). Highway 25 remains open at this time.

CHP and CalTrans has also closed the number one fastlane of Northbound Hwy. 101 from Morgan Hill to Bailey, due to flooding.

Gilroy Police also says Hecker Pass (152) will remain closed in both directions until Friday at the earliest.
