Salinas double murder suspect arrested in Los Angeles
Salinas police reported the arrest of double homicide suspect, Ellin “Omar” Escamilla on Tuesday.
According to police, Escamilla was arrested without incident around 8:30 this morning at a Victory Outreach church in Los Angeles.
Escamila was wanted on a $2,000,000 warrant charging him with two counts of homicide, related to the deaths of his parents. The couple killed during a violent attack in their home on Essex Court in Salinas on November 15, 2016.
During a seven-week investigation, Salinas police worked with the U.S. Marshal Service to follow several leads in Southern California and Arizona. On Tuesday, marshals arrested Escamilla.
Salinas Police Detectives have traveled to Los Angeles to interview and transport Escamilla back to Salinas, where he will be booked into Monterey County Jail.
