Employee at El Sausal Middle School pleads no contest to sexual assault allegations
SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) UPDATE Oct. 31, 2022, at 5:09 p.m.- A former El Sausal Middle School employee pled no contest to two felony charges for crimes against a minor.
Daliah Farfan, a former Community Liaison at the middle school, will be sentenced for lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14 years of age and providing marijuana to a minor.
She is scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 11, 2023.
Employee at El Sausal Middle School pleads not guilty to sexual assault allegations
UPDATE NOV. 9, 2021 7:20 p.m. El Sausal Middle School employee pleaded not guilty to sexual assault allegations, according to Monterey County Superior Court. Her preliminary examination is scheduled for Nov. 17.
A preliminary examination is for the judge to determine if there is probable cause to believe that a felony occurred and that the person being accused is the one who committed the crime.

A classified employee at El Sausal Middle School has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a student at the school, according to Salinas Police.
Investigators say 26-year-old Daliah Farfan was booked into the Monterey County Jail Wednesday for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14. Farfan was a Community Liaison at the middle school.
Police say they received a tip about the assault just days before an arrest was made.
"The Salinas Police Department received information related to this case, and our detectives proceeded to get right into the investigation due to the seriousness of the charges," said Miguel Cabrera with the Salinas Police Department.
Parents who spoke with KION said they had no idea an employee at the school had been arrested on these charges.
The Salinas Union High School District said they could not comment further, but did release this statement to KION:
"The District was shocked to learn about the arrest of a classified employee on allegations of lewd acts with a minor. Salinas Police are actively investigating the matter.
The District Office is in full cooperation with Salinas Police at this time and has placed the employee on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
We cannot comment any further on the allegations. Salinas Police will release all details on its investigation as they become available going forward."

"Any further leads will be investigated. And that can take us to many, many possibilities, including additional victims," said Cabrera.
