Salinas man pleads guilty to second degree attempted murder charge

A Salinas man is set to be sentenced to just over nine years in prison after pleading guilty to several charges.

28 year old Marcos Bond pleaded guilty to second degree attempted murder, residential burglary, and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Monterey County District Attorney. Each offense is considered a strike under California’s three strikes law.

Bond entered a Salinas home on November 2, 2014 and held a victim at knife point demanding money he was supposedly owed. The victim says Bond got the wrong house and was actually looking for someone else. He got Bond to go outside and was able to escape and call police. Bond was later arrested.

He’s scheduled to be sentenced on June 19.
