Women arrested the day after she was released from jail

Santa Cruz Police officers arrested a 52-year-old woman who broke into a home Monday the day after she had been released from the Watsonville Police Department.

Police responded to the call at about 3 a.m. when a man reported someone broke into his home.

The victim told police he found Roberts in his bedroom and tried to force her out of his home. He said she began yelling and cursing at him while pounding on windows of his home and was able to get away.

When officers arrived they found the suspect had dropped her jail booking paperwork in the home. They say Roberts had just been released from the Watsonville Police Department the day prior.

Police say they were able to locate Roberts a few minutes later in the 200 block of Grant Street after neighbors in the area reported a woman pounding on doors and yelling.

Roberts was booked into jail again and faces charges for burglary, vandalism and violation of her already existing probation.
