3.9 magnitude earthquake strikes Central Coast

The Central Coast was rattled by a 3.9 magnitude earthquake Friday evening.

The USGS reports the epicenter was 5 kilometers south southeast of San Juan Bautista. The puts the epicenter just inside San Benito County.

No damage has been reported at this time.

This quake hit at 6:17 p.m. and the recent 4.2 quake on November 19 near the same location, has kept residents on edge. Experts say this is a very active part of the San Andreas fault zone.
