Throughout the week, students wrote anonymous positive messages on sticky-notes and post them at their schools in designated spot. Participants were encouraged to take pictures and tag them with #ghghmonterey to win a prize for the most creative posts. The pictures were also put on the organization’s Facebook.
Participants also created a public service announcement about suicide prevention to raise awareness about the issues of bullying and suicide in Monterey County.
The Post-a-Smile campaign was open to all, and was developed by girls participating in programs through the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County, Girls Inc. of the Central Coast, Monterey County Health Department, Monterey County Rape Crisis Center, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte and the YWCA Monterey County.
