Salinas man dies after falling while collecting rocks in Big Sur
A Salinas man died after falling in Big Sur Sunday, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
Members of the department’s search-and-rescue team were called to the Jade Cove for reports of a man who had fallen while collecting rocks for his rock collection.
Emergency personnel found Robert Lewis Jr., 52, who had fallen about 150 feet down the rocks. He was pronounced dead, deputies said.
