Officers say on Saturday Antonio Ayala was driving this Honda Accord and was involved in a hit and run with a parked truck at the Deer Park Shopping Center.
A while later, they say Ayala was involved in a rollover collision on Townsend Drive after driving into several items on the roadway.
Ayala was arrested for DUI and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
The CHP says, "As we head into the holiday season, please remember that a DUI crash, or arrest is preventable. Designate a sober driver, use public transportation, call a taxi, use a rideshare company, or stay where you are for the night. A DUI could cost you your license, freedom, life, or the life of another. While keeping the roadways safe is the job of the CHP, the public can assist in removing dangerous drivers from the road. If you see an impaired driver, call 9-1-1. Be prepared to give the dispatcher your location, direction of travel, and a description of the dangerous vehicle on the road – but be sure to keep yourself safe."
