Person arrested for vandalizing Santa Cruz business

VANDALS

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION)--Santa Cruz Police have arrested the person they believe vandalized a local business.

Officers responded to The Falafel Hut at 309 Beach Street.

The business had recently come under fire after a video surfaced of a street vendor being harassed, and having their cart flipped over.

Some bystanders believe one of those in the video is the owner of the Falafel Hut. We reached out to the business on Monday, and still have not heard back.

The person arrested for vandalism has not yet been identified.

Santa Cruz Police Chief Andy Mills took to Twitter saying, "Let’s stay on message and bring meaningful change. Violence and vandalism devalue the movement."

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
