The CHP rescues a dog wondering Highway 1 on Christmas in Santa Cruz
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) -- It is a story that is certain to warm your heart on this Christmas. A dog was seen wondering Highway 1 in Santa Cruz Wednesday morning. CHP officers jumping into action to help save the pup.
The CHP in Santa Cruz calling this one a “special operation.” The dog was seen running in the middle of Highway 1 near Morrissey Blvd, according to officers. At one point, the dog was even seen standing on the concrete divider.

The CHP says, “with precision and care, they devised a game plan and successfully captured our furry friend.”
The dog is now safe and sound at the Pacific and Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialists on Soquel Drive. The CHP is looking to spread the word in hopes that this precious pup finds its way back home to its rightful owner.
