Prunedale Christian Academy teacher arrested on sexual assault with a minor charge, sheriff’s office says

PRUNEDALE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Monterey County Sheriff's Office said a Prunedale Christian Academy teacher was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.

The sheriff's office identified the suspect as Michael Louis Moon.

According to investigators, they received reports of a sexual assault taking place involving a juvenile and a teacher back on November 7th. Moon was arrested the next day.

Moon is listed in the jail log as a 22-year-old on multiple charges.

Moon was arraigned on Wednesday and pled not guilty, according to the Monterey County DA's office. They also said that his next court date will be for a criminal protective order hearing on November 19 at 8:30 a.m.

The DA's office says that Moon is currently being held in custody.

The sheriff's office said they believe there's more victims in the case.
