Red flag warnings issued for parts of Monterey and San Benito counties, increased fire danger

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) – A red flag warning is in effect from 3:00 a.m Wednesday to 8:00 p.m PDT Thursday due to critically dry fuels, low humidity, breezy winds, according to the National Weather Service.

The area impacted include the Santa Lucia mountains and the southern Salinas valley, San Benito, and interior Monterey County. Fires could be a concern over the next few days particularly in these areas.
