MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION) -- Traffic hazards and road closures continue to pop up in Monterey County due to the heavy rain and gusty winds hitting the Central Coast.

7:01 a.m. 1/28/2021 CHP reports State Route 1 has been closed in Big Sur.

- River Rd. Chualar River Rd. to Limekiln - CLOSED
- River Rd. between Camphora and Foothill - CLOSED

- Old Stage Rd. at Esperanza - CLOSED
- Metz at Spreckels - CLOSED
- Metz from King City to Topo Ranch - CLOSED

6:00 a.m. 1/28/2021 CHP reports road and weather condition near northbound US 101 near Camphora Gloria.
5:45 a.m. 1/28/2021 CHP reports Roadway flooding near Foletta Rd and Broome Rd.
5:35 a.m. 1/28/2021 CHP reports a crash with minor injuries on Prunedale South Rd. just north of Blackie Rd.

- Greenfield - Northbound 101 at Old Stage Rd.
- Greenfield - Elm Ave. & Metz Rd.
- Salinas - Spence, Hartnell, Potter, Esperanza Rd. between Old Stage Rd and US 101
- Salinas - Northbound Old Stage Rd. at Associated Rd.
- Salinas - Southbound River Rd. & Pine Canyon Rd.
- Camphora - Northbound 101 and Camphora Gloria Rd.
7:02 a.m. 1/27/2021 The Monterey County Regional Fire Protection District reports that the area around Old Stage and Hartnell Road is flooded.
The agency is asking people to avoid the area after multiple vehicles have gotten stuck.
6:55 a.m. 1/27/2021 The CHP is responding to the following incidents:
- Report of vehicle flooding truck near Hartnell Road and Alisal Road, 400 feet of flooding
- Report of big rig blocking roadway near northbound Highway 101 and Potter Road
- River Road closure from Chualar River Road to Parker Canyon Road due to flooding and mud
- Report of tree blocking roadway on Strawberry Canyon Road and County Road G 12
- Closure in place near Highway 1 and Rio Road
- Report of closure at Gonzales River Road and Country Road G 17
- Report of closure near Sand Dunes Drive and SR 218
6:17 a.m. 1/27/2021 The CHP is responding to the following incidents:
- Report of vehicle flooding truck near Hartnell Road and Alisal Road, 400 feet of flooding

- River Road closure from Chualar River Road to Parker Canyon Road due to flooding and mud
- Report of tree blocking roadway on Strawberry Canyon Road and County Road G 12
- Closure in place near Highway 1 and Rio Road
6:08 a.m. 1/27/2021 The Monterey County Regional Fire Protection District reports that River Road is covered in mud one mile north of Limekiln Road and the 1500 block of River Road.
The district is requesting a hard closure of the road in both areas.
4:17 a.m. 1/27/21 -- CHP reports a mudslide on River Road. The road is being closed down by CHP.
3:42 a.m. 1/27/21 -- Monterey Regional Fire reports mud is flowing on pine Canyon Rd. above Redding Drive. Crews are working close the roads. Boulders in the road are reported.
3:32 a.m. 1/27/21 -- CHP reports roadway flooding near the 800 block of River Rd.
3:21 a.m. 1/27/21 -- The CHP reports a vehicle in a ditch on US 101 Northbound near Reese Circle.
3:00 a.m. 1/27/21 -- The CHP reports a traffic collision after a single vehicle spun out on US 101 Northbound just south of the Red Barn. Injuries are unknown.
2:44 a.m. 1/27/21 -- The CHP reports a tree blocking one lane near State Route 1 and State Route 68 near Salinas. Department of Transportation is responding.
1:44 a.m. 1/27/21 -- The CHP is reporting a car collided with a downed tree near the 90 block of Espinosa Rd. in Salinas. No Injuries are reported.
12:58 a.m. 1/27/21 -- The CHP is reporting that a large tree has fallen into the left lane of northbound Highway 1 at Aguajito Road in Monterey.
12:18 a.m. 1/27/21 -- The CHP is reporting a jackknifed semi-truck on Southbound US 101 at Front St. Lanes were blocked on 101 and traffic is being diverted to Front St.
