Dry weather for Friday, rain on the way

We will enjoy one more day of dry conditions on Friday before a return to wet weather this weekend.

The first of back-to-back storm systems arrives Saturday, bringing some light rain to the region. A more widespread and longer lasting storm system will arrive on Sunday. Showers and occasional thunderstorms will follow on Monday, with lingering showers Tuesday, perhaps into Wednesday.

Friday: Mostly sunny with increasing high clouds. Slightly cooler with highs in the upper 50s to upper 60s. Gusty winds in the afternoon.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with light rain arriving in the afternoon—better rain chances on the coast and in the north. Highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. Breezy at times.

Extended: Sunday will feature a more widespread rain event with periodic light to moderate rainfall. Temperatures will continue to cool down with highs in the 50s into early next week. We’ll see scattered showers and thunderstorms with small hail on Monday and lingering showers on Tuesday perhaps into Wednesday. Some warming later in the week.

The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for April 10th – 16th calls for the likelihood of near normal temperatures and near normal precipitation.
