Music in the Plaza returns to Watsonville on June 21

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The City of Watsonville is welcoming back its annual summer outdoor music series, Music in the Plaza, beginning on Friday, June 21 at 6 p.m.

The free concert series kicks off with the Selena Musical Tribute band opening night; Grupo Fuerza Mx vs La Distancia de Tierra musical showdown on July 5; the Mojo Faux Band on July 19; the 5 Star Band on Aug. 2; the D-Kovers band on Aug. 16; and the Roots Rockers on Sept. 6.

The City of Watsonville suggests bringing blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets to enhance the experience. Local restaurants will be open and serving meals during the concerts.

Music in the Plaza takes place in the Downtown City Plaza between 6 and 8 p.m. More information can be found on the city's website at watsonville.gov/1804/Music-in-the-Plaza.
