19-year-old Salinas man dies in rollover crash on Highway 1 near Soledad Drive

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION-TV)- On Tuesday, The California Highway Patrol confirmed that a 19-year-old Salinas man has died in a rollover crash on Highway 1 near Soledad Drive.

Officers said the crash happened last Friday night around 9:41 p.m. when they discovered a 2003 Honda Accord that had rollover damage.

Investigators determined that the 19-year-old man was driving on Northbound Highway 1 and the vehicle went off the roadway, overturned and went into a guardrail.

Officers said the man died from his injuries at the scene and one lane of Highway 1 was closed for two hours.

The California Highway Patrol said that drugs or alcohol were not a factor in this crash. If you have any information on the crash, you are asked to contact the California Highway Patrol.
