79-year-old Pacific Grove man dead after his truck flipped over in a two-car crash, CHP says

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)- The California Highway Patrol confirmed that a 79-year-old Pacific Grove man has died after his truck flipped over on Saturday afternoon.

Officers said the crash took place on River Road and Las Palmas Parkway just outside of Salinas at 2:40 p.m.

Investigators said that a woman was driving an Audi southbound on River Road when she crossed the double yellow line and hit a Ford truck that was traveling northbound on River Road.

Officers said the crash caused the truck to flip on its roof. The driver of the vehicle died at the scene while a woman who was a passenger was transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the Audi sustained minor injuries.

The California Highway Patrol said that it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this crash. This crash is still under investigation.
