Monterey County to open new local assistance center in Salinas

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)  Update Jan. 26, 2023, at 6:47 p.m.- Monterey County has announced will open a new local assistance center to help victims of the 2023 winter storms.

The new center will be located at the County of Monterey North Building at 1441 Schilling Pl, Salinas, CA 93901. This will open from Saturday, Jan. 28, until Feb. 5.

The center will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On Thursday, Monterey County officials announced that a local assistance center would open this weekend to help families affected by the recent storms.

Individuals, families, and businesses can access disaster assistance programs and services from local, state, and federal agencies.

The center will be at Spreckels Veterans Memorial Building on 90 Fifth Street. The center will open on Saturday, Jan. 21, and remain open until Thursday, Jan. 26.

Officials said the center would be open at 9 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
