Scotts Valley High School celebrates its 25th year
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- On Friday, students at Scotts Valley High School (SVHS) participated in a school-wide kick-off celebration ahead of the school's 25th anniversary.
"Today was the kick-off of our 25th anniversary of Scotts Valley High School and we are excited to have the kids celebrate not only this year, but the year of 2025--the graduating class," said SVHS principal, Joe Allen, mentioning that the event was the first in many planned by the school this year.
Teachers released students around 10 a.m. to occupy the football field so they could spell out a giant '25' with the entire student body. A drone operated by Covello & Covello Photography took an aerial shot of the number.
"I love continuing to be a part of the community," said Allen. "It's my first year at the high school and it's a fantastic community. It's great to see how our students continue to grow, watch them be supported and sent off to do great things."
Allen made the move from Scotts Valley Middle School, where he was an assistant principal for two years and then the principal for four years after that.
