Nursing homes and caregivers reflect on pandemic one year after it started

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) One year after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, caregivers and nursing home staff are pushing for the government to invest in caregiving.

Nursing homes in Santa Cruz county experienced high COVID-19 death rates throughout the last year as staff cared for patients in some of the most vulnerable groups.

Tonight at 5 and 6 p.m. KION's Jocelyn Ortega will hear more from local caregivers as they reflect on their experiences.
