SOQUEL, Calif. (KION-TV) - Forward progress has been stopped on the Sage Fire after a structure fire spread into vegetation.

According to CAL FIRE CZU, the structure fire broke out around 3:16 p.m on Sage Lane, with firefighters on scene taking approximately 20 minutes to knock down the flames thanks to support from Central Fire and Scotts Valley Fire.

According to Central Fire, there were no injuries reported but 2 out buildings were deemed a complete loss along with some burned vegetation.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but central fire says that before the fire started, residents on the property heard a loud bang that sounded like a gunshot before smelling smoke. Those residents tried to extinguish the fire with a garden hose before fire crews arrived.
